Senior Application Developer – Azure, .Net

The Information Technology Branch (ITB) requires an Applications Developer (Systems Integration Specialist) to assist in delivering integrated digital solutions for CASA.

Key duties, responsibilities and Technical skills

The Specialist will be responsible for advising on, and development and maintenance of CASA’s integration solutions. “CASA’s system integrations include the Microsoft Azure Service Bus, Web Apps, Function Apps, internal digital applications, WCF services, Storage and API Management. The Specialist will perform the following tasks:

1. Co-design and deliver integration solutions that enable data sharing across COTs and custom-built applications including but not limited to EAP (CASA’s core regulatory platform that supports CASA’s regulatory activities), myCASA (CASA’s industry facing digital services platform), TRIM, SAP and bespoke applications using APIs and Web Services.
2. Develop and maintain Azure integration solutions and Web APIs including improving Azure DevOps pipelines and components including functions used for deployment.
3. Develop and maintain documentation and architecture artefacts throughout the application development lifecycle.
4. Identify the root cause of priority issues and work collaboratively across teams to resolve these on agreed timeframes.
5. Provide mentoring to other developers, integration specialists, and the applications support team.
6. Design approaches to data sharing across Azure storage solutions.
7. Collaborate with internal CASA stakeholders at all levels including non-technical stakeholders to ensure that deliverables are met in accordance with milestones.
8. Identify, evaluate and report on risks in the delivery of project outcomes.
9. Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and participative management and environmental management practices in the workplace and acting in accordance with CASA values and behaviours. 

Mandatory 

1. formal qualifications in IT, computer science or related discipline or 5+ years’ equivalent demonstrated experience.
2. demonstrated experience in developing integration solutions using Microsoft Azure Cloud components, including, but not limited to:

• Microsoft Azure Service Bus
• Microsoft Azure App Service
• Microsoft Azure Functions
• Microsoft Azure API Manager

3. demonstrated experience in developing composite applications with contemporary integration products using the Microsoft products stack, including, but not limited to:

• Microsoft .NET Framework

4. demonstrated experience in liaison and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders with good communication skills in written and verbal context.
5. demonstrated experience in working in multidisciplinary teams in a complex ICT environment.
6. demonstrated experience in application life cycle management and ITIL practices.
7. significant knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies. technology directions and strategic application to business needs.

Highly desirable experience

1. Experience in building and deploying applications via VSTS (Azure DevOps).
2. Experience in building and maintaining SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) solutions.
3. Experience in strategic planning and providing governance and management of ICT projects.
4. Experience in working in Agile environments.
5. Relevant industry certifications

Location Based at 18 Marcus Clarke Street Civic the resource must work (on average) 37.5 hours between the core hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm Monday to Friday. The Seller may request approval from the Customer, for its Specified Personnel to perform the services at the Specified Personnel’s home address or at another address. This request will only be approved by the Agency where the proposed remote working arrangements satisfy the needs of the Customer.
